Hello!
I’m Danny Mecler, an outstanding graphic designer from Bartlett, Illinois. I became interested in design from a high school Photoshop class. The class was so much fun and exciting, a few friends and I asked if there was more to learn. We ended up making two more Advanced Graphic Design classes between two high schools, learning Illustrator and InDesign. After school, I would create designs to print out onto my mini skateboard toys, which led to my first clients of other kids on the internet interested in fingerboarding.
After earning a degree in Digital Prepress from the College of DuPage, I landed my first design job as the sole designer at a local AlphaGraphics printshop. Here, I transformed customer ideas into stunning designs; whether it’s stationery, upscale branding, or eye-catching tradeshow materials. From there, I worked prepress at a paperboard packing company, a Jr Art Director at a custom promo product company, a social media and print designer for a chicago landlord company, and a designer for a consumer fire alarm company. With a an eye for typography and layout, I consider myself a master of the Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Some call me a design chameleon, since I can effortlessly adapt to any design style, thanks to my diverse range of clients.
Creativity is an enormous part of my life. When I’m not sitting at my computer designing, I’m writing songs for my band, or performing improv with my friends on stage. My wife, also a designer, inspires me too. We share tips and push each other to be better every day.
